Projectile From a Building: When and Where It Lands

December 13, 2025

Problem

A ball is thrown from a 50-meter tall building at 20 m/s at a 60° angle. Find when and where it hits the ground.

Explanation

This visualization shows a ball launched from the top of a 50-meter building with an initial speed and angle. The curved neon path is the projectile trajectory under constant gravity. You can interactively change the launch speed, angle, and building height, and the simulation will compute and show when and where the ball hits the ground. Time is animated so you see the ball moving along its parabolic path. The horizontal distance at impact is the range, and the impact time is the flight duration until the ball reaches ground level (y = 0).
